In addition to producing painful, unsightly acne lesions, cystic acne can also leave permanent scars on the face and body with physical and emotional consequences.

These new treatment techniques give us an edge in devising a custom treatment program for each individual suffering from this complex stubborn disease. Some of our effective acne treatments are described below.

Thermage Acne and Acne Scar Treatments

A series of two or more Thermage treatments can dramatically reduce acne and acne scarring by using Radiofrequency energy to permanently reduce the number of sebaceous glands in the skin while stimulating collagen production. Thermage can be used to treat acne and acne scars on the face and other body areas. Typically two Thermage treatments are performed one month apart to produce long lasting acne improvement. A few acne patients may require additional treatments to control their disease.

Levulan (ALA) Photodynamic Acne Treatments 

For dramatic, long-lasting improvement in cystic and mild acne, the application of Levulan prior to your Intense Pulse Light or ClearLight treatment will increase your results. Just 3 to 5 treatments performed 3 weeks apart will usually provide long term acne clearance, although the number of treatments needed may vary.
